A true adventure with kayaking between islands, cooking on fire and sleeping under the stars
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Sweden
Today we all meet up at Stockholm Airport (ARN) and drive southwest to the city of Norrköping. In the evening we gather for dinner at the hotel and a briefing by our kayaking tour guide Yannick. It’s then time to enjoy our cosy hotel beds as we won’t be having any of that in the adventure ahead!
Day 2: Get used to your kayak
After breakfest at the hotel we then head to the shops with Yannick to buy food for the week. This is your chance to ensure your favourite snacks make it onto the boats! We then transfer to the coast, where we pack the kayaks and get a tutorial by Yannick. Thus prepped, it’s paddles in and we head out onto the water! When evening draws near, we set up camp. (Note that we don’t sleep in tents, but rather cosy it up under a tarp.) Then it’s time to enjoy our first dinner around the fire and chitchat under the stars.
Day 3: Explore the islands
Over the next four days we spend a few hours every day paddling along the coast between tree-covered islands. The specific route Yannick chooses is dictated by the weather as well as the speed set by the group. This is outdoor therapy time – we let nature and the rhythm of the paddle soothe, energise and restore us. Yannick is a highly experienced outdoor professional and during the trip he teaches us tips and tricks with our kayaks. He also shares other useful outdoor skills with us.
Day 4: Make fire
We will stay on a different island each day and make a nice bondfire to keep warm and cook food.
Day 5: Sleep under the stars
Each day also holds plenty of time for swimming, drinks by the water, and any other activities the group feels like – it could be yoga, nature photography, songs around the campfire, or whatever else interests the group.
Day 6: Feel the nature
Be prepared for some philosophical discussions under the stars when the quietude and raw nature spark deep thoughts.
Day 7: Return to Stockholm
Today we enjoy one more island breakfast and one more group paddle among the islands. Once back on land we pack up and hit the road for Stockholm. We arrive in the city around 6 PM, and the official part of the trip ends. We do, however, highly recommend spending at least one night in Stockholm to give you the following day to enjoy the culture of this beautiful city in summer.
