Do you have a passion for East Africa and are experienced in selling it as a holiday destination in terms of climbing expeditions, safaris and other exciting authentic experiences? Then this role could be for you! We're seeking a travel consultant who would like to specialise in and sell East African experiences to our worldwide clientele.


  • Hitting monthly revenue targets by contacting warm leads via email and phone.
  • Contacting a set number of warm leads per day.
  • Managing follow-up actions to close sales.
  • Maintaining a detailed knowledge of Follow Alice's product portfolio.
  • Tailoring itineraries and providing costs for clients by phone and email.
  • Offering excellent client service to ensure repeat business.
  • Maximising revenue by ensuring everything is covered for the client's trip including added-value offerings.
  • Closing sales through to deposit and then handing over to the operations and trip manager.

Important: You'll be responsible for your own client portfolio, and a great client portfolio will result in an attractive commission income. In order to build strong client relationships and hit your revenue targets, you'll sometimes be required to work outside of office hours.

What we're looking for

  • At least five years of travel industry experience selling East Africa travel experiences.
  • Travel sales experience from either a concierge, retail or tour operator setting or similar.
  • A high-energy and proactive personality.
  • A confident communicator who enjoys talking to clients and taking initiative.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to build rapport with agents.
  • Very high attention to detail.
  • A very reliable and diligent character.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for role.
  • Someone eager and able to learn quickly as this is a rapidly changing environment.
  • A passion for working for a startup that has a people-focused culture.
  • Someone who is in love with life and has a sense of humour.
  • Experience with Google Workspace.
